Listed below are various volunteer opportunities, along with contact information, available at People’s Church. Many other opportunities arise to serve as a volunteer. We rely on our volunteers to keep our congregation strong and vibrant!
The Worship Associate assists the minister and leads the congregation during the Sunday Order of Service.
The Sanctuary Keeper prepares the sanctuary for Sunday service. This may include lighting candles, arranging flowers, and placing items needed for the service.
The ushers (two for Sunday service) hand out the weekly Order of Service and hymnals as congregants enter the sanctuary for service. They also take an attendance count. The ushers pass the collection baskets during the offering and join the minister in front of the congregation for the dedication.
Education Class and Nursery
Volunteers assist the teacher during children’s Sunday class, which takes place during the Sunday adult services. Volunteers are also needed to assist the care of infants and toddlers in the nursery.
Coffee and light refreshments are served after weekly Sunday services. Hospitality Teams rotate every few months providing these items, making the coffee, serving, and cleaning-up.
Serving with the members of People’s Church is both a privilege and an act of worship. Through volunteering, we are able to help our community, fellowship with our church family, grow spiritually, and connect with others.
Our choir members enliven the Sunday morning services with their enthusiasm and dedication. Choir practice is 9:30-10:30 on Sunday mornings. Auditions are not required, and newcomers are always welcome
